Congratulations to Eddie on completing the 2011 London Marathon.
Today the 6th June 2011,
Eddie Kidd will complete the London Marathon. This is the 4th attempt and
the first one since his accident in 1996 and if you know Eddie it
probably won't be his last. He has taken 46 days to complete the course
with the aid of 'Elmer', a specially designed tricycle to support him
on his journey. They said he would never walk but he has. Eddie was
able to do this with the aid of the 'bioness' system which was
introduced to him by The Foundation. It's a small device that is
attached to Eddie's foot which stimulates the muscles to assist him in
lifting the foot forward. Without this Eddie would most definitely not
be able to walk. Once the foundation is awarded registration, we are
seeking to secure a permanant device for Eddie that will start the
programme to get him back on his feet walking eventually unaided.
We
would like to extend our thanks to all who have helped Eddie along his
journey, to Sam and all of the team who have spent the long hours and
days urging Eddie on each step.
Eddie has raised over £70,000 and counting for Children with Leukamia and for The Eddie Kidd Foundation. This is fabulous news and a tremendous success for Eddie.
We salute you Eddie and look forward to working with you on future events.
We
also wish to thank all of the donations that have been received
recently. We anticipate the website will be updated over the next few
weeks and good news from the Charity Commission will kick start theyear
and our aim to to help people like Eddie better their lives..
This is the official site for The Eddie Kidd Foundation. It is a charitable organisation ; supporting the treatment & rehabilitation of stunt performers & professional extreme sportsmen & women.
We are currently updating the information on the site so please be patient as we have had a few glitches and some data has been lost and needs to be re-uploaded.
May we also inform all who visit this site that The Eddie Kidd Foundation is a legitimate organisation and is currently seeking registeration from the Charities Commission.
Once we receive our registered charity number we will be able to officially move forward and start undertaking fund raising events and work towards supporting the people who require our help.
If you wish to make a donation and would like further assurance, please call Nick Sherard at our offices for assistance.
Best wishes and thank you for all your support.
